While I know this may not be an exciting thing for most people, for me it is a huge accomplishment. For those who don't know, I got sick last summer and lost a total of 10 pounds in two months. I was already small and borderline underweight to begin with and this just pushed me over the edge. I looked skeletal. I had people whispering behind my back and asking my family if something was wrong with me. I looked bad. I went down to 106 pounds. I am 5'7" and being 106 pounds is way too small. I had a BMI of 16. Since last summer, I have tried my hardest to gain back the pounds I lost with no success. I did gain a couple pounds around December/January but lost them again. For the last six months or so, I have been a steady 106.8 pounds with no sign of the scales moving any time soon. It was depressing. And most people just don't understand. They laugh and say they wish they had that problem, that they want to be skinny like me. If only they knew...

On Tuesday, I went for an appointment with my naturopath and like she always does, she weighed me. She was pleased with the fact that I had gone up almost 2 pounds since my last visit. I brushed it off though and figured her scales were probably wrong. There was no way I had gained any weight, I've been failing for the past year to do so, what would make any difference now? Which leads to this morning. I woke up, went pee and weighed myself. I was shocked to see 108.6 flashing back at me. Wow!!! I had actuallly gained weight!!! I jumped up and down with glee and ran off to tell Dan. What a fabulous way to start the day. :)

And since some people are visual, I'm including some pictures of me.

Me at my biggest, 125 lbs, 2006

Skeletal me, 106 lbs, 2012 (I'm on the left)

So as you can see, I'm teensy. But hopefully I'm on the road to better days of weighing more!
