New and Improved

Well actually, I'm not sure how improved it is but it's definitely new.

I present to you, my NEW Young House Love book!

Isn't it beautiful all in one piece like that? In case you don't understand what I'm referring to, check out this post on the destruction of my original signed book.

I love how beautiful a new book really is. All clean and crisp.

I promise I will keep this book on a high shelf far away from little doggie teeth. No coffee table books for me while we have a certain black lab around.

But not only do I have a new book, I have a new personal message from John and Sherry over at Young House Love! After the sad end to my first book, I emailed them to explain my saga and ask if there was any way I could get a new signed copy of the book. I honestly wasn't sure if they would even respond, being the crazy busy bloggers that they are, but alas, they did! I may have been a little more excited about the email than I should have been. I consider myself very cool now, being on a first name basis with Sherry. It really did make me feel all warm and fuzzy.

While they aren't able to sell copies of their books, they are able to sign bookplates to put inside their books! So they very kindly signed a bookplate and popped it in the mail for me.

It arrived shortly after my new book did (which I ordered from Chapters) and I was thrilled to have my brand new signed copy of the fabulous Young House Love book.

In case you can't read what it says, "Dear Jennie, Sorry the dog ate your first book! And happy DIYing! xoxo, Sherry & John". Pretty sweet eh?

And in case you are wondering what is happening with my torn apart book, I've got plans! So stay tuned for more on that.

  1. That's awesome the authors resigned (at least a bookplate) for you!! I can't wait to see what you're doing with the destroyed book!

  2. Kate, I was pretty impressed with their quick response and eagerness to send out a new signed bookplate. :) And I'm hoping to post early next week about what I did with my ruined book.

  5. So cool! I'm not terribly surprised that they responded. Although their life seems busy, they strike me as very down to earth people who always have time for a fan. Yay for new books!

  6. artistmouse, I was a little surprised since on their contact page on their blog they say that they are really busy and might not be able to respond. So I was excited when they did! But yes, I agree that they seem like very nice down to earth people.
