Stylin' My Gardening Hat

I've been looking for a gardening hat for a while now and have had no luck. I couldn't find one that would fit my three specifications: 1) semi cute, 2) affordable and 3) would fit my giant head. Every time I found one that I thought might work, as soon as I tried it on I knew it was a failure. I have a big head and all the hats I tried would sit on top and just look stupid.

A couple weeks back, I was shopping for bridesmaids dresses with a friend and we were at Le Chateau, trying on some options. Right beside the dressing room there was a hat stand with a whole whack of stylish hats. Just for the fun of it, I grabbed one and plopped it on my head. I was sold. It looked so cute, was only $20 and it fit!

I couldn't believe that I just happened upon the perfect hat like that. I didn't expect to look this cute while out working in my garden!

And no, those are not my gardening clothes. I was on my way out the door to work when I snapped these pictures. Please also ignore the mess of a kitchen in the background, it's been a busy week.

Isn't it just fabulous? I'm totally in love and can't wait to put it to good use. I wonder if I can find other events where big hats are needed, other than gardening...

  1. cute hat!! I have a giant head too and I have NEVER found a hat that fits. "one size fits all" my butt!

  2. so cute! I always TRY to look stylish while gardening, and give it up for comfort and clothes I dont mind getting filthy.. =P

  3. Casey - Thanks! And I'm glad to know I'm not the only one with a big head and finds it challenging to find anything that fits. I hate "one size fits all" things because they never do.

Kate - I'm pretty sure the only stylish part of me will be my hat. The rest of the attire, totally grungy gardening wear. :P
