What's Growing Wednesday

I can't believe how fast the weeks fly by or how fast my garden is growing. But alas, it is Wednesday again and time to show off this week's growth!

As you can see in the back of these pictures, we finally got the pea fence up! Better late than never right?

I also decided to make this week the week of flowering plants. First up, the bean flowers. I love the sun shining on the gorgeous green of the plants in this picture.

A bunch of the potatoes are now flowering too, I love that they produce pink flowers.

Our heirloom tomatoes are also doing well, getting bigger and producing little green tomatoes and flowers. I wonder if our tomato crop will do as well this year as last.

And lastly, our peas. They are starting to climb the fence and are popping out pretty flowers, while I daydream about eating fresh peas in a couple of weeks.

I also couldn't resist sharing a picture of our lettuce, since it's so tiny and cute when it first pops up out of the ground. Pretty soon we'll get to enjoy fresh salads made with lettuce, spinach and tomatoes. Yummy!

There's our garden for yet another week. Everything seems to be doing well and I even got around to planting more carrots. Hopefully this trend continues!

  2. Casey - My garden makes me feel productive because it really doesn't take that much work. I mean, there is work involved but it isn't as hard as some people think it is! Maybe next year you can try growing herbs on your porch.
