14 Goals for 2014

A new year, a new list of goals! Are you ready to read about my realistic goals for 2014? At least I hope they're realistic.

1. Learn to parallel park
2. Get a will made up
3. Make a roman shade for the laundry room
4. Have a successful herb garden
5. Visit Seattle
6. Gain 5 pounds
7. Volunteer with a local charity/group
8. Learn to knit socks
9. Plant a new shade tree
10. Run another 5k
11. Read 20 books
12. Put an extra $5,000 on the mortgage
13. Join a local knitting group
14. Take a Zumba class

I'm liking my tradition of making new goals for each year and I hope to continue it on for a while. I also like that I make bigger ones and smaller ones, while also keeping them realistic.

What about you? Did you make any goals or resolutions for this coming year? Or am I the only one?

  1. You're really good at writing goals Jenn, all specific and practical. Good luck achieving them. I have a few writing goals, but I really must write down some others - there are several other things that need doing around here. Hope 2014 is good to you.

  2. I love seeing your reflection on the last year and your goals for the new one. And I think you have to give yourself even more credit... you accomplished and survived and triumphed over so many difficult things in 2013 that were never your "goals" but that have made you a stronger, even more incredible woman. I love you, sweet friend--welcome to a much-needed NEW year!!

  5. Furry Gnome - Thank you, I really do try and keep my goals realistic so I don't become too intimidated. Good luck writing down some of your goals you'd like to complete this year.

Tory - Yes, 2013 was not what I expected it to be and I did get through it in one piece. :) Thanks for always cheering me on, you are an amazing friend and I'm lucky to have you.

Jackie - I figured you would find things you can help me with. Which ones are you planning on aiding me on?

Vicky - I'm definitely not going to attend Zumba on the 6th, I need a bit of time to rest. But I do plan on joining you for at least one class!

  6. You know which of those goals would be most difficult for me? The first one!!! I am the world's worst at parking cars - unless there is more than one space available. So good luck with that one!

  7. Anne - I'm really scared to learn to parallel park! I'm horrible at parking a car on a good day, let alone into a small space that needs to be backed into. But I think it will be a good handy skill to learn to do.
