I can't believe I'm actually typing this but Spring is officially here. We're just in the beginning phase when everything is wet and muddy and dirty but it's still joyous nonetheless.
The snow is slowly melting and our backyard is starting to emerge from the whiteness. A couple more days of the warm temperatures we've been having and we'll soon be out of snow! We can even see most of the garden.
I cannot wait until we can plant seeds and start eating fresh produce again! I know I know, that's still a little ways away but a girl can dream.
The rhubarb is growing in leaps and bounds and we even have some daffodils poking out of the ground. Isn't this just a wonderful time of the year?
The hens have finally started venturing further from their coop into their yard, despite still having snow to walk on. They even found their favourite stump to stand on. I'm telling you, it feels good to see them enjoying the outdoors again.
Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day and I got to enjoy it right from the start. I had some car trouble on the way into town in the morning so I spent some time on the side of the road. I soaked up some sunshine and snapped a picture to share with you.
After Dan got home from work, we ventured out for a walk up the road with Mia. I wanted to get in some exercise and Dan wanted to help unblock a culvert in the road in hopes of getting rid of a giant puddle.
He was mostly successful and we spent some time watching the water flow down into the broken culvert.
While Dan was playing with the water and I was taking pictures, Mia was happily chewing on a bone she found during the walk. She kept her distance from us in case we suddenly got the urge to take away her new found toy.
In conclusion, we are so relieved that Spring finally decided to grace us with its presence. We are busily soaking up the sunshine and loving every minute of it.
Has Spring arrived where you are? Are you still waiting or have you been enjoying it for a while? What is your favourite season?
