Simple Pleasures - May 2014

As some of you may have noticed, I've been a little absent this past week. I apologize for the slowness of the blog, but I have been sick and haven't felt up to writing. I've currently come to the conclusion that it must be strep throat and am waiting to see my doctor to confirm. I'll probably continue to be a little absent for the remainder of the week but hope to be back next Monday, ready to take on the world again!

In the meantime, here is my simple pleasures post for the month of May. These are just some random things that have brought a smile to my face over the past week.

Drinking honey lemon water out of my new mug

Chomper, our pet snapping turtle we rescued

Our pretty shiny new BBQ!

The adorable outfit I wore last week for volunteering

My yard sale finds

Fresh rhubarb from our yard

Getting the garden planted
Now it's your turn, tell me something that made you smile this past week!

  1. Love that outfit on you! It's got a kind of 40s vibe I really like. What made me smile this week was having our chicks arrive safe and sound, and buying tomatoes to container garden on our deck this summer!

  2. Chomper is so cute! Having a blog post to read made me smile this week. Also, seeing the rhododendrons from my my window. And Mikey's smile. :)

  3. Love your hair in the first picture with your new mug. The shorter hair makes you look so healthy! What made me smile this week is all the plants coming up in the garden and also the way our little grandson is starting to talk.

  4. Lee - I felt super adorable in that outfit and you're right, it does have a 40's vibe to it. Hooray for chicks and tomatoes!

Jackie - I knew you would appreciate the blog post. ;) Rhododendrons and Mikey's smile are two very good things to be happy about.

Ellie - My hair is deceiving in that picture, it's actually pulled back into a loose pony tail and that is just lose ends hanging down. I love this time of year when things start to grow! And little kids talking is pretty cute too.
