Bringing a Fertility Centre to Peterborough

On Monday I shared about the infertility and repeat pregnancy loss support group that I am starting up, but that is not the only project I am currently working on.

I have a bigger dream, a dream of bringing a fertility centre to Peterborough. It is a decent sized city with a population of about 81,000 and we currently have no where close by for people struggling with infertility to go. As I talked about yesterday, I will need to travel to downtown Toronto in order to do my cycle monitoring. There should be somewhere closer for people to go for appointments and testing. Adding travel stress onto the already high stress level that infertility brings just isn't right.

I am currently in the very beginning stages of conducting research on how much of a need there is in our city before going too gung ho petitioning politicians or fertility centres to bring one here. While I am pretty sure that there must be a significant amount of couples needing a service like this, I need some data to back up my cause.

I am handing out these brochures to as many doctors offices and people I can, in the hopes that couples struggling with infertility will fill out the survey and get it back to me. I'm really hoping that this dream can become a reality one day and this service will be offered a little closer to home for couples who need it.

If you can, please share this information. I need people to join the fight!

If you would like more information about this or would like to request a brochure or survey, please don't hesitate to contact me.
