Labour Day Relaxation

We rarely have any plans for Labour Day and this year was looking to be no different. We had a neighbourhood BBQ on the Saturday but that was it for fun stuff to do. But then our good friends Dave and Glenda invited us to their cottage for the Sunday and Monday!

We happily accepted and headed out on the Sunday afternoon for the hour drive to get there. It was such a perfect little cottage. The cabin was tiny with a small loft and a fabulous front porch to sit on and enjoy the view of the lake.

Except for the view of the lake was lacking, so we put Dan right to work with his chainsaw.

By the time we they were done moving trees, we could sit on the porch and see the water.

Most of the weekend was spent playing games, reading, hanging out by the campfire and fishing. Dave and Glenda's daughter and son-in-law were also there so we had a nice little group.

We had great weather and it was so nice to get away and relax for a bit.

They even told us we could go anytime, whether they are there are not, so we are already planning some more trips.

Thank goodness for long weekends and awesome friends.

How was your long weekend?
