As you may have been able to tell from some recent pictures of me, my hair was looking extremely long. I hadn't cut it in over a year (other than some trims) and it was the longest it had been in a while. Long and beautiful it was.
And yes, I am speaking in the past tense. Yesterday I cut it all off and will be donating it to Pantene Beautiful Lengths!
This is my first time donating my hair and I'm pretty excited about it. It feels way less wasteful than when I just get it cut and throw it away, this time it is actually serving a purpose. Plus, my hair is crazy thick so I feel like I'm donating twice as much.
I had some fun taking some before shots of my hair when it was freshly washed and looking especially nice, excuse my shower background and my casual clothing choice.
I hate how my hair always looks so nice right before I chop it off. Can't I be cutting it on a bad hair day? Nope, never.
My hairdresser was awesome and cooperated with my request of taking step by step photos. I wanted to document this moment well and I knew I wanted to share pictures with you all.
We put it into four little ponytails so that we could keep as much length on my head as possible and because I have crazy thick hair and it is easier to cut when not in one huge chunk. And then she cut!
It's so short! But look at all that hair I'm holding, it will hopefully be super helpful in making wigs. My fabulous hairdresser then worked her magic and I ended up looking pretty great.
I'm totally loving it and it feels so much lighter already. I'm really happy that I did this and am excited to have short hair again.
Has anyone else ever donated their hair? I don't know why I haven't done this before, I definitely want to do it again. Although I may change my mind after I wash it and my real hair returns. I'll keep you posted.
