My health struggles all began in June 2011, when I came down with what I thought was a flu. It involved nausea, diarrhea and one bout of vomiting. Except unlike a flu, I didn't get better. I continued to be sick for the next year and a half.
Here is an approximate timeline of my health over the past three years.

August 2011 - Visited family doctor, told it was just a virus and it would pass

September 2011 - Had an abdominal ultrasound to check gall bladder, results were normal
October 2011 - Met with a gastroenterologist and scheduled colonoscopy and endoscopy
November 2011 - Had colonoscopy and endoscopy, results were normal
December 2011 - Tried going gluten-free
January 2012 - Gave up on gluten-free, feeling too depressed

May 2012 - Went partially dairy-free (not checking ingredients but avoiding obvious sources of dairy)
June 2012 - Met with an internist
June 2012 - Had a CT scan, results were normal
July 2012 - Started seeing another counsellor, to deal with anger and bitterness
October 2012 - Stopped seeing counsellor after starting to feel better emotionally
October 2012 - Had allergy testing done, results were normal
October 2012 - Met with a pharmacist at Nutrichem Biomedical Clinic in Ottawa
November 2012 - Started supplements and was told to try a gluten-free diet for 4 months
December 2012 - Went 100% gluten-free
March 2013 - Had testing done to check for gluten, dairy, egg and soy intolerances
April 2013 - Found out I was intolerant to gluten and dairy and semi-intolerant to soy
April 2013 - Went 100% dairy-free and continued gluten-free diet
Summer 2013 - Finally feeling somewhat "normal" after two years of feeling like crap!
November 2013 - Started a 3 month corn-free trial
March 2014 - Went 100% corn-free
It has been quite the journey to feeling better and it's still a daily struggle. I have good days and bad days, good weeks and bad weeks, good months and bad months.
I am still fighting to gain back weight and am constantly working on getting the scales to move upward. Since for the most part I am feeling better, my current struggle is weight gain. It isn't as easy as it may seem and if you want to read a post on the perspective from a "skinny person", please click here.
If you are currently dealing with health struggles, I hope that my story brings you some hope. Just remember to be an advocate for yourself and fight for help. It took me a year and a half and multiple doctors before I started getting some answers and feeling a little bit better. It was a rough road but I have learned a lot along the way.
